Not production legal advice. Bracketed review notes have been turned into visible counsel notes so launch owners can see what remains unresolved.

1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar browser technologies can remember a session, protect a form, store a preference, or measure how a service is used. Some are set by the site you visit; others may be set by a configured service provider.

2. Essential technologies

Essential storage may be needed for secure sign-in, session continuity, checkout state, fraud prevention, load balancing, and remembering a privacy choice. Disabling it can prevent requested features from working.

For legal review

Inventory the exact production cookie names, providers, purposes, and lifetimes before launch.

3. Preferences

Preference storage may remember choices such as display settings or a dismissed notice. Waystone should avoid storing sensitive customer or eSIM information in browser storage.

4. Analytics

Waystone’s provider-neutral analytics architecture is disabled by default unless configured. If nonessential analytics are enabled, the consent experience should explain the provider, purpose, duration, and available controls before those technologies run where required.

Analytics event properties should not contain directly identifying information.

5. Advertising and profiling

No advertising or cross-site profiling technology should be described as active unless it is actually configured and disclosed. The current product direction does not require it for core functionality.

6. Managing choices

A production preference center should let people revisit nonessential choices without blocking access to the service. Browser controls can also remove or restrict storage, though essential features may then stop working.

For legal review

Add region-appropriate consent categories, vendors, signals, and withdrawal behavior after the production inventory is approved.

7. Updates and contact

The final policy must include an effective date, a monitored privacy contact, and a current storage inventory. Material changes should be explained clearly.
